"Special Education 101 Training"
Located at 3737 Dacoma St. Suite E(77092). Cost is $25, but individuals may qualify for a 50% scholarship withappropriate proof of hardship. Participants receive: PowerPoint TrainingHandouts, The Resource Guide for Children with Disabilities, and 2012 IDEAManual (a 60 page Special Education Manual). Special Education 101 is an overview of federaland state law governing public school, special education procedures. Child andparent rights are discussed along with referral processes and practical tipsfor securing an appropriate education in theleast restrictive environment. Her combined 24 years in special education includes a teacher certification in Texas, Masters Degree in Special Education,Certification as a Diagnostician, and she worked for Texas Education Agency as a Special Education Compliance Monitor, Non-Public Facilities State Coordinator, and a Special Education Complaints Investigator.
